Okay, ever since I got a nice digital camera and a phone with a good camera, all the pictures I take are coming out too big to attach. I know there is a website I can log on to to attach my pictures and put the link in here (which I know is also poopy b/c when the site updates the pictures aren't available) but I would like to know the site or if there is a way I can downsize the quality maybe so I don't have to make the picture .5"x.5" to meet the requirements. Help me please

resize image to 640x480. So, whatever program you're using to veiw/edit the image, you should be able to "resize image" and you should be good to go.

I'v got one that is 640x480 and it's 900kb and the other is 519x415 and it's 632kb. it's not the actual picture size, it's the file size thats big

I may be off here, but try saving it as a .jpg. For some reason when I've tried to post .bmp images it doesn't like it, but I can post the same image no problem when it is a .jpg. Otherwise, Scott will have to weigh in here.

I do remember someone saying that. I changed the filename, but I am still getting the error.

FWIW my dig cam captures pix that are about 5Mb in size. If I open the pic in MSPaint, click stretch/skew from the tool bar and put in say 30% for both axis, it will take the pic down to about <100kb. The picture still stays a good size tho.

630X450 will maintain the correct proportions of the photo. You also may need to reduce the number of colors to keep the file below the 125K file size limit

did you just change the file extension to jpg or did you actually re-save the pic?

I did both. I think I'v got it now though. I just went into mspaint and hit 30% and it worked great, still a good size picture and it fits on the site.

Here's another tip...
Always go with 640 x 480 max by 72 dpi. That is the monitor resolution so anything finer doesn't help. Also, and here is a biggie - when you save, use jpg AND select low quality max.
I can usually get a typical 640 x 480 easily below 25kb. That would equate to 6 photos in one post. Again, when viewing photos online, anything beyond screen resolution is a waste, kind of like watching HD TV on portable TV. Nothing is gained.
