im not going to lie, im starting to change my mind.....it looks pretty tuff. im still holding a grudge against chevy for what they did to the rear bumper....should have kept it like a truck bumper. now i just need to see it with a winch and a light bar

True
I'm going against the trucky nature of the tahoe but I liked the 07 DUB editions too with all the mods and of course XZIBIT standing next to it

lifts are going to be a bit different on these animals... no torsion bars up front, yo!
blkz71
Feb 24 2006, 01:57 PM
yea that was the first thing that came to mind when i heard they are going to have coil overs in the front. tehy can actually make a suspension lift that actually flexes up front.its going to be pricey whenever they make it though.......im guessing about 2500 for parts alone.maybe they can do something witht he new a-arms so we dont have to drop the differntials as much and run a new drive shaft

It looks HORRIBLE lifted, but that's just me...I love how it looks stock. Plus, is that even real? It looks just like a photochop to me...
I'll take terrific fit & finish and a solid feel, like it's actually going to stay together for longer than the payments go, any day over just having big, heavy chrome bumpers and a terrible interior just "because that's how a REAL truck should be".
Plus, one has to remember, regardless of the few (like here) who actually do use them rough and off road, 95% of the people who buy them don't...and that's who an automaker has to cater to.

umm yeah, it is photoshopped whats wrong with that?
i don't think anyone builds brand new custom lift kits that meet D.O.T. requirements in 3 months.

Rancho announced the new kits release. I ran into one guy that was "testing" the new Tahoe with the kit on and said he worked at Rancho. I checked out the website and it was there.
http://www.gorancho.com/products/suspensio...gmc_RS6562b.aspHe mentioned it has a new subframe, new knuckles, and SS brakelines. It looked awesome. I've got a cell phone pic but looks horrible. He said they are shipping March 2 with the kits and 4 wheel parts will have them in stock. I think he mentioned they are OE on some parts and said they got an early jump.
He told me to check the website in a week and finished photos will be available.

im not saying that it isnt a real truck and im not saying that is not as strong or tuff as the current tahoes. hell with a coil over front suspension and all the other changes they did to it it could be stonger...given that that you opt for the 4.10 gears because with 3.42 you wont be able to do as much. when i say its not a real truck i mostly referring to the looks. to me it just have the "truck" look that the current tahoes have, the bumpers in particular stand out to me. when i look at the tahoe i cant picture it loaded down with gear, pulling a trailor, or any offroad what so ever, ebethough i know it very well can. i know that only a hand few of us actually offroad but by no means did i( and im sure everyoen else who offroads there tahoe would agree) buy a z71 tahoe based upon offroading.....theres a billion reasons why i wouldnt have vs. a few that are positive.ill admit that the interior is way better and fit, but its not for me. i like mine simple(eventhough mine really isnt) and some what of a truck feel, the new interior looks like it came out of a limo.im not knocking the new tahoe....it really is a better vehicle...and i would do nuts if i woke up in th morning and my torsion bars were gone. But to me its a different vehicles and i like the old tahoe better and i think there are some other that feel the same. no offense meant....just my thoughts on what they have done to the tahoe.

Feb 26 2006, 07:41 PM
also i dont get where you are going with stay together or last longer than the payments because mine is lifted and been abused and theres nothing wrong with it at all. i have 90K on mine and i promise yall its been put through the paces.yes i reageared it, but have examing the ring a pinions they were in perfect shape. you cant tell me that you think that the new tahoe will hold up better, i dont see any particular reason why it would?

its all good, to each his own, we just have a different opinion on what a tahoe is or was.....i like big, rugged, loud, and the infamous "truck" look that other suv's dont have..that my thought.....other people dont see this "truck" trait that im talking about and its all good everyone has their own opinion.

Just putting a 285/70R17 AT tires on the 2007 makes a world of diffenece in looks, and in handling. Chevy should be ashamed of themselves for bolting on those garbage Bridgestone Dueler HT's, or Goodyear Wrangler HP's on 4wd's. 2007 owners do yourselves a favor and get rid of those OE tires and get the right tire for a full size 4wd truck.
