hey guys. so im in need of a new dash trim bezel. i found one on ebay for $50 bucks. i was wondering if any of you guys here had one i could take off your hands?

but i was thinking instead of replacing it with just a plain regular one maybe i could up the annie and go with wood grain. but im not sure how it would look. what else would i have to replace to make it all look somewhat like a denali or escalade version on the interior?

also i was thinking maybe i could carbon fiber some stuff. never really looked into that so i dont know what that would take. anyone know anything on this?

another thought i had was just line-xing my trim piece i have now along with some other things on the interior to accent it. i would use line-ex extra to make it a smooth finish. ive seen it done before and it looked pretty wicked.

basically the insurance company gave me $700 to replace my dash trim, repaint my dash, fix the dent under my door handle where they broke in, and repaint my drivers side front and back doors. i havent decided if im just going to do that or use the $700 to redo my interior like i was talking about and just pocket any extra money i have left over.

just buy a denali bezel and be done with it. look at brandon or wills truck to see what they look like with your interior. why do you need to repaint your dash? and painting the doors is gonna take a chunk out of that 700, especially if you want it done right.

well insurance quoted me $700 to repair all the damage. all i have to do is go to a shop and let them repair and repaint everythng no matter what the cost. so even if it winds up being $1000 bucks to repair and repaint then insurance will pay the difference.

and i need to repaint the dash because they scratched the **** out of it with a screw driver

i tried to look at wills photobucket but it said i needed a password? ill try and take a look at brandons

wait im going blank. whats brandons user name?

yea ive heard that many times. im thinking if i do go with getting the repairs done then i may just swing for a whole new paint job. ive got tons of scratches and what not. if i do then ill be shopping around and will be expecting to pay 4-5k for one. isnt that about right for a good one?

I bought the Denali bezel (dash) from ebay for around $100. I then bought a molded wood kit for everything else (center console pieces, arm wrests (around the motor controls), vents... HUGE improvement to the inside of the truck. My dash is now shot so I'm about to replace the gauges with the Escy premium ones so that should improve the look too.

Where'd you get the other "molded wood kit" pieces? Post up some pics if you got them.

I bought the wood trim from Sherwood Dash. I tried to buy from xtreme vehicle place (name is escaping me right now) but got taken advantage of and the guy never actually made my pieces... finally refunded my money but it took a good little fight to make it happen.

Anyway, the trim piece around the dash is the Denali console. Everything else is from Sherwood Dash. Color and finish matches perfect. There is another piece that came with my dash kit that is molded to fit over the original console in the suburban. I tossed my old console piece when cleaning things out of my garage so I have this other piece sitting in the box. If anyone is interested in just that let me know and I'll be happy to take any offer. smile.gif

^Your interior looks awesome man, that's exactly how I'd like mine - Pioneer AVIC, rear camera in the cubby, and Denali trim all over. good.gif

Hey....I thought the Denal bezel was my idea. ;-) I think it makes a huge difference in the interior. My gauge cluster even has the Denali bezel.

harpera
that looks good... bout time to charge that battery though. wink.gif

My gauges just started sticking at 30mph. Every other day it's working right or acting up. I'm leaving for vacation next week and will order the Escalade premium gauges to replace these with when I return. I need to stop putting money into this thing... it's a hobby to watch it transform into something I like better but is starting to be a bit much for a truck with 107k miles. Eh, I'm enjoying it for now, with any luck I'll have a lot more time left on this thing to keep enjoying it.

btw, quick reply on the camera thing. I got a 3.5" LCD from ebay (China) for around $75 or so. It runs to an AV switchbox that is in my arm console. The switchbox controls audio/video from my Droid, iPod, PlayStation 2, TV (over the air, digital - pretty much useless if driving) and rear camera. I can basically see whatever is on the back drop down screen on that little LCD which works well when the kids in the back are crashing into cool things on the PlayStation. smile.gif

The stereo is another whole ball of fun... it's what basically started all other mods and is where the bulk of my money is. I've had the truck for about a year and a half... def a fun hobby. smile.gif

I know it's old but I actually just took one off a front clip a co-worker got. It's gray and needs to be refinished but no cracks though. Let me know if you're interested.
