I have just installed a Dana 44 solid front axle w/4:11 gears and would like to retain the ABS. I have found allot of info for Jeep guys, but nothing for us Chevy guys. Has anyone out there done a conversion and if so can you retain the ABS with a kit or something? I have already pulled the bulb from the dash, that thing was driving me crazy...

I have been reading up on this, from what i have found you need a newer dodge axle to make the abs work... something about the sensors interchange... but as long as front axle swaps have been going on someone would have figured it out by now.

What was the donor vehicle for that D44?

I am working on the pics, hope to have them out soon.

The donor was an old jeep, mid 80's I think. I had the full conversion done for $3000.00 from a Jeep guy that has done some chevy's also. I was going to go with a Dana 60, but I just dropped $2500.00 on new wheels and tires last summer, so needless to say, that was not going to happen, "yet".

So it's a J10, J20 or Waggy axle. Decent choice. Did you keep the rear 10 bolt?

Yea, just went to the Yukon 4.11 gears to match.
