Full Version: New Group Purchase Store!

As you all know, we've been working real hard to negotiate some fantastic deals for our members with the various Group Purchases we've ran. We've done a pretty good volume and vendors are starting to warm up to some unique ideas I have.

The plan I have is, I want to have our normal periodic GP's, but also have some substantial everyday deals so people in a hurry don't have to wait for the next GP. If you can wait to get the very last 5% by buying in bulk and waiting for others - that's great. However, if you want it now, I want to to ensure our members get the best possible deals on their accessories right here - right now!

In addition to these slashed prices, we've even negotiated a small commission for ourselves to help offset the overhead so that we can continue to grow and service the needs of our rapidly growing community. So everyone wins!

To this end, we've been working hard to develop a system to help facilitate this, and things are starting to come together. The first step is I've been working hard on the infrasture - a store with the backend to handle the transactions and distribute the orders to the respective vendors for drop shipping immediately once the funds clear. Its done! Please take a look:

Z71TS.com Store!

As we continue to add the products you all request, the store will continue to expand the selection. We will shortly have AirRaid, Baer, Borla, Eibach, Husky, Diablo, Hypertech, Volant, JBA, Corsa, B&B, Lund, Nifty, Chevy apparel, etc, etc - In addition to those we handle already AEM, Magnaflow, and Valeo. All at the best prices you will find on the net.

In closing, I will shortly be starting a new thread that will accept comments and suggestions for products to carry and to communicate new items, etc. Although the goal is to shatter any and all prices out there, and I already know we're doing a great job in that regard, I would like to ask for your patronage as every sale gives a little back to help keep this place strong and vibrant for everyone.

We've come along way during our first year! You ain't seen nothin' yet!

Cheers!

notworthy.gif This is awesome, and a great addition to the board. I notice some of the item say "(group 3 purchases)". How does that work. Does someone click buy and it doesn't process the order until 3 people do so 'er whut?

Scott
Yep, pretty much. Once we have the 3 committed buyers for just those items, the orders will be released. As of now, Valeo is the only one that requires a rock bottom minimum qty, but I'm sure once we get a few more rounds under our belts that'll ease up. All of the others will accept one ups right now! In fact, we got 2 AEM orders just in the last couple of hours. Glad people are taking advantage of these savings!

Wow, thanks Scott!

Bravo on the AEM purchases. They will be very happy. I'm sure your personal review helped that too.

You're really taking it on, now! I'll do my part to support the team when I can. I have a couple of questions/comments:
1) Perhaps you could add in a link to the product(s) and include MSRP as well as "Z-member" pricing.
2)It one of us were to find a lower price elsewhere, is there some way that we could (easily) alert you to it?
3)Maybe an option for those of us who are already E-tailers, to extend discounts to forum members.

Hi Teddy,

Perhaps we should take up some of your questions on the new Store Discussion thread. For just a quick response, here you go in the same order:

1. I could put a MSRP I suppose, but often they're pretty hard to find. Like the actual sales prices, they're all over the road. For those that are easy to find from the Mfr's site, I will do that wherever possible. However, I think people have a pretty good idea what items cost out there. For example, the AEM's go for $242 pretty much across the board as the minimum - some with shipping - some without. We've got that beat by at least another 10%.

2. Of course - PM me. I will say that I know I'm not going to be able to beat every single price on all items all the time. There's just no way at this time we have enough volume to guaranty that all the time. I will however, keep pushing these guys as hard as as I can - up to and including changing vendors if it makes sense.

3. We should talk about this a little more, but have you checked the Member Services thread? That's exactly what this thread was designed for. I know you're in the skiing stuff, so please post it. The only thing I will restrict is items that are Z71 related to avoid vendors trying to set up shop.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback.

The store looks fantastic, Scott!! notworthy.gif

Scott,
Dont know if this is a needed/wanted item in the store but it is always nice to see reviews next to an item of interest. Maybe a 5 star system or comment sections where members can put their rating of the items.
Scott
Hi Jenna,

That's a good idea. The problem is, big time commercial features like that often cost big $'s to have subcontracted. One guy I spoke to wanted an unbelieveble amount of money simply to allow a port to display current vendor inventories and a few other things. Imho, that would have been a total waste of a few grand.

On this store, besides the software license and the gateway surcharge, I slowly figured out how to do it all myself, and saved a ton of money. I'd prefer to keep thing simple and costs as low as possible so that the item costs stay rock bottom. If we got fancy, I had to add in so much to offset the costs that we'd no longer be providing a value.

Anyway, with regard to reviews, we already have a product review section on the forums. I'm hoping that if we focus on using that more, that might do the trick?

Wow...just wow. I am a member of many different forums for many different vehicles , and none of them have anything like this. Scott you truly go above and beyond.

I just ordered the AEM Intake. I have a friend who owns an off road center here in NJ and I have access to his prices on items and you have gotten a better price then what he pays! So I have to say, Nice job Scott, and Thank You! notworthy.gif
