Yea, as soon as it comes back from the dealer (I'm having them do their "Winter Maintenance Special" on it. Still looks the same, just got the black rub rail replaced with a white ones so it's all white, and added the nav/radar and lights all around. And bigger outboards, those were the 250's in those pics.

hahaha, well there was 4 of us that day. We started headin offshore at 7:00 AM with 2
cases of bud light, that picture was at the dock at around 6:00 PM, we did pretty well. But dont worry, those beers went back in the cooler with a bunch of dead fish and were enjoyed the following day.
Note all the dried blood. Once we were all several beers deep, we "all of a sudden" had an "urge" to gaff every freakin fish fish we got to the boat, I mean every fish, and we did damn well that day haha.
oh, and Chapparal are AWESOME. Especially the newer years. And, gumby, that standup...

I love those.

2004 Beneteau 37' sailboat...
Back while we still lived in California...

More recent pics...

Has the California deep keel and sails like a DREAM. Interior has 2 berths, full head and a full galley. 20" flat screen and DVD player along with stereo system for inside. My dad and I made a run to Mexico in it and had a blast. Here on the Gulf, the keel is an issue, but we never grounded her.

WOOT!
Sold her off just before Gustav came in to a guy in NJ. Miss her, but we didn't sail her enough to justify the expense. When my wife and I get closer to retiring, we'll get another and probably end up living on the boat and sailing where we want to go. But we have some time before then to decide. We learned a LOT about what we want and don't want on our next boat from this one. This one was ideal for 98% of what we wanted, but a few small things we'd do differently. I know I want enough room for a fresh air compressor to fill scuba tanks.

They're made down in SC, so just a stone's throw from ya... kinda.

We lived on it for vacations and such. We kept it in Orange Beach along the ICW and really enjoyed the camaraderie while we were there. Learned a lot from other cruisers and liveaboards. I know I'm not ready to do it permanently, cuz I love my Jeep and Avalanche too much to part with em!
But when we buy another, for the wife, me, and a couple of dogs (Shih Tzu's), we'll likely go up a bit in size to a 42 for additional storage.
The amenities (electronics, furling main in the mast, furling headsail, etc) are all things we'll look for - basically ways to make the act of sailing easier to do solo if necessary.
When we sold her, I took a BUNCH of stuff off that we'll use again. Radios, PFD's, lifelines, harnesses, binoculars, compasses, plotting tools, etc. We also learned that that bimini covers are pretty much required on sailboats in humid areas. We didn't need it in Marina Del Rey, but sure did on the Gulf! May have sailed it more if we had gotten that sooner. Oh well. I have more I can post if you want to see the interior. I just didn't want to be a post hog.

I too enjoy too many of life's conveniences which would make it difficult for me to step over and live permanently on a boat. Right now that is. I'm going to be living on a boat for a year come June so I'd better get used to it quick!
