That LTZ is sweet... Nice way to end the run of the current platform...

carguru
Both body styles will be sold for '06--just like back in '87 and '99.

True, but as INSANELY overpriced as the current models are, I can only imagine what the MSRP on the LTZ will be....

If a fully-loaded 1500 LT can hit $53k (WAY too much), the LTZ should probably be, um, about $55k ohmy.gif

From what I've been told, the next gen should be priced much better right from the start, so you don't have to get a $10k discount....instead, the MSRP's should sink back to what they should have been all along, making the final discount you get much smaller.

I know this is off topic but when do the H3's come out? I know they will be offered with a manual and will get possibly 20 mpg but havent heard much else. I thought I saw somewhere that 4.56's will be an option. That be a cool option.

They already started building them and you've been able to order one for about a month and a half or so now--they should be on the lots any day now. 3.5L 5-cyl as the only engine, with a 5-spd stick standard and the 4.56 rear axle is also standard--mainly, as I've been told, to ensure the H3 doesn't feel as sluggish as one would expect it to for having the 5-cyl.

what price do they start around? 29,500???

Yep, starts at $29,500 to be exact. That's with cloth seats and the 5-spd stick. With every option checked, it goes up to right under $40k, with the list including leather, sunroof, Nav system, etc.

Sorry, but it looks like a "parts bin" option. SS Wheels, Aftermarket looking step bars, and an Escy-chrome peice on the roof rack, all on a Z-71 Suburban.

Sorry for being harsh, but I am looking forward to seeing the new Burban. cool.gif

They HAD to do something to spure some sales before the body change... If everybody waits because it's "more of the same" than that doesn't benefit the bottom line. I like that they gave it a "luxury" look to up the class a little. While I don't like the chrome, I can see where there's a market for those parts just by looing around at the LS and LT's runnin' around! I'm sure plenty of people would be happy with a higher "jumping off point".

carguru
Yep, exactly. That's what they did in 2000 by offering the Limited and the Z71 Tahoe.

Well, here's the '07 Suburban (albeit with camo):

As has been noted before, this is more of an evolutionary change than something radical, much like the C5 vette is to the new C6. A large part of the nose of this Chevy is obviously taken straight from the Cheyenne concept, but now with different headlights.

Where'd everyone go? unsure.gif

Not sure on my feelings about how the new vehicles will look... Cant wait to see what the final product looks like when the hit the dealers lots.

I was a little disappointed when I saw the preproduction ones. I guess it will eventually grow on me...just like the Avy look. mellow.gif

Can someone help me out. On the first post there is a deletion of option

(G86 Differential, limited slip)

Does this mean that G80s are now standard. I'll be honest I have never heard of the G86 option. Does this apply to Tahoes too?

And for the Tahoe:

Deletion - (NR4) Transfer case??? How can this be, are they coming out with a new trans case code or something?

carguru
The G86 was the limited slip diff that went with the Quadrasteer. Since that is going away, the G86 was no longer an option. As for the NR4 transfer case, it is probably a consolidation issue.
Matt
Interesting, thanks CG!

Whats nice is that if we wanted to, with a simple few addons we can update our trucks tastefully.

SS Chrome rims(20's)
Chrome Escalade handles
Chrome step bars
and delete the fender flares which I think we all like and wouldnt do anyways.

Other than that what is nice is that they still look like the current Z71 truck and they dont make ours look old..

Nice info!

Will there be any new colors for 07?
mtaylor
When I backtrack those image URL's, the directory they are under is titled "escalade." Even more interesting, when I search the autospies website for "tahoe" I get two articles titled "part 1" that have pictures of the new escalade, however when I click on the link they both contain text talking about the new Tahoe.

Either way, here's an unmasked picture of the Tahoe.

Looks like an Expedition ate a Trailblazer. sad.gif

Agreed. Definitely looks like Chevy took a step down with this one. I have been wondering if my car will lose attention once the new body style comes out, looks like we don't have many worries in that dept though.
