you might ask around and research before painting your chrome bumper I've seen way to many look like poop after a few months because of peeling. when i did the bumper on my old yukon I used a self etching primer like 15 coats of black then a like 5 coats of clear all bomb can mind you and even that started chipping and peeling off.

just a heads up.

I know allot of people swear by plastidip but I have only done that on the Z71 Cladding and I ended up just peeling it all off cuz it didn't hold up well very ether. lol

with all that said your burban is coming along very nice keep up the good work.

I've had a few things painted or powder coated over chrome. Everything has been sand blasted first. Not to remove the chrome, just to leave a good bonding surface. It's all held up well. However, none of my stuff had taken a beating like a bumper might.

You'll be happy with the 285s. 35's invite issues like regearing and extra stress.

For reference here's mine when I ran 285/70r17 with keys and a 2 inch spacer. Wheels were just 9 inch wide bullet holes off summit.

what keys did you use to lift the front? shocks? spacers in the rear? your truck looks great, pretty much how i want mine to look. i've been pondering painting my wheels black since i bought it dude to crappy clear coat, but wasn't sure how it would look with the gold body. anyway, it looks great and i will be doing it in the spring!

I used herculiner on the chrome bumpers. I used a flap wheel on my 4.5" grinder first. I top coated it with Krylon satin black. I have touched it up a few times but all that is is to grab the Krylon and give it a quick shot. One forest road later it all looks the same.
