Beautiful job there John. Great execution, that looks just....perfect. clapping1.gif thumbsup.png thumbsup.png I like the bumper pads on that one more than the ones that are on mine.

Just a thought, you may want to get delrin rollers for your winch fairlead since they will be black and be more subtle in appearance than the typical chrome ones.

I didnt think I would like the bumper painted green....but.... wub.gif

Holy cow X2
I'm now considering painting my ARB bumper instead of line-xing it, though part of what makes it look good is the fact that its not the stock Chevy ARB bumper and has the black push-pads.
Great job!

--------------------

Main Ride: 2002 Green Z71 Tahoe
Recently completed: Icom 2720H behind dash w/ control head in center console & mic in glove box; replacement OEM horns from 1986 Silverado (solenoid needs to be rewired); Streamlight Survivor w/ piggyback recharger (still needs off switch installed); installed 3rd row mounts & seats
In-Shop / en-route: 2500 tow mirrors w/ heater & turn signals
In-planning: 17" ATX Mojave rims (teflon)
In-theory: Roof-rack mounted rear amber flashers; Replace OffStar antenna with roof-mounted disguised 2M/440 antenna; Lighting upgrades (LEDs); CB (installed into tape-deck slot)

Trailer Tower: 1992 Indigo Blue 2500 Suburban w/ 454 & Silverado Package
Recently completed: second battery w/ isolator; HAM radio (Icom 2720H) under passenger seat w/ control head & mic in dash w/ swing-out arm & secondary mic plug in center console; added multiple 12v receptacles from center console through to cargo area; Streamlight Survivor w/ piggyback recharger (still needs off switch installed); replaced towing harness 12v power fuse with circuit breaker
In-Shop / en-route: Third row seat + seat belts installation (1992-94 style to match original) (not impressed with welding plan)
In-planning: New-style 2500 tow mirrors w/ heater & turn signals
In-theory: Front receiver hitch; AND trading up to 2000-2006 Suburban 2500 (a few years off ... house first bought house w/ 2 acres)

I haven't yet purchased the synthetic line and I am undecided on the fairlead. One option is definitely the delrin rollers. I am also considering fabbing up a cover plate attached by nutserts and using a solid fairlead. It depends how much energy I get later.

Thanks again John for coming up with the idea for this mod! thumbsup.png

How much ground clearance did you gain from ground to bottom of bumper. Also do you think your approach angles are that much better?

Looks great.

In an earlier post, you mentioned a compressed nerve and have to schedule surgery in August. Hope that all goes well for you. You also mentioned you won't even think of kicking over the 500 Maico you have... Really, you've got a 500 Maico? Great ride! notworthy.gif Years ago I buzzed the jumps with my buddies 440 Spyder, and it was much better than my big bore YZ Yammie, and I was real impressed with the smooth power delivery, and the great handling. Is the 500 like that?

Actually my 500 is from 1985 which technically makes it an Mstar. At one time we removed the disc brakes and put on drums so my son could race it in the vintage hare scrambles here in Florida. I also had at one time a 360 YZ Yamahammer that I ran in the desert. And before that a Bultaco Pursang and Ossa. I ran the Pursang at the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix. Remember the movie 'On Any Sunday'? click-me.gif Yep, I was there being lapped by the likes of Malcom Smith and had the pleasure of meeting Steve McQueen. Those were some very fun days!

LOL! You got me laughing and grinning from ear to ear! I LOVED that movie!!! notworthy.gif I think it is the all-time best motorcycle movie. Funny stuff. You had to be an off-road rider to get all of the jokes, but it was even funny to my g/f at the time. The same guy did the movie 'Endless Summer', about pursuit of the perfect surfing. Another good movie from the early 70's. The narration in it is funny too. Both are on my "classic" list. biggrin2.gif

And, to get back on topic.... the bumper looks absolutely fantastic. It looks factory, no, much better than that! thumbsup.png
