Oil Consumption

After a divorce i got a good deal on an 08' 4x4 LS hoe, absolutely love the truck more then my previous 04' Z hoe. I have done some research about oil consumption to the tune of about a quart a month😳😳😳😳 no obvious oil leaks or burning oil noted. She just rolled over 144k. I havnt found info on a fix just buncha yappin.... Can yall help with with my issue please and thank you!!! Synthetic oil aint cheap an it's annoying AF!!!

AFM. That's what eats these trucks up.

There's a couple of service bulletins. PIP4492A was one of them.

Involves replacing the left valve cover or cleaning a baffle.

Another was cleaning the tops of the pistons with a seafoam equivalent then putting a shield P/N 12639759 before re-installing the AFM module.

Supposedly these helped but I agree. AFM is junk.

Just add oil and keep driving. My wifes 07 Yukon burns about a quart between oil changes. My 08 doesn't burn any. I knew about the issue before buying hers, and it has never affected anything, just have to keep an eye on it and make sure it's topped off.

i owned a 2003 z-71- i sold with 278,000 original driveline,no leaks did not use oil,was awesome. just wanted a new truck,bought 2013,now has 98,000, complained about oil use,dealer gave me hogwash about usage,i said ok. foolish .i let go-its been some time and i think issue has gone worse,in less then 5,000,no oil on stick,any ideas,why is this going on.truck runs great other then this.?????????????
