Welp it has started....

Washed from all the salt and brine we had from a couple weeks ago...

and installed some H2's with 285/70/17 Michelin LTX M/S tires I picked up.

And yes that is the Tahoe playing peak-a-boo with the blue tarp on it.

How I wish I could afford them. They are awesome, just can't come off of 2K for wheels with everything we have going on.

I am looking at upgrading the tires too, hard to justify when these are very quite on the road and I know they are a good tire. They are load range D and definitely ride smoother than the E range LTX A/T2. I have noticed they grabbed one of the plastic clips so I will definitely have to do the reverse rake body lift sooner rather than later. I am looking at picking up a set of Toyo A/T II's in 285/75/17. Their website says they are part of their extreme series of tires. Not sure what all that entails...

i ran 285s on mine for a while.

looks good... your going to kill the gear ratio though...

also if you tow i would not put a lot of lift in the front, the 2500 dont level out like the other suburbans and Tahoe,

I was only going with the 285/75 for regular driving. If I have to tow I was going to put the 265/75/16 factory tires on it. The only like I was looking to do was the reverse rake body. 2" in the front and tapered to the rear. You truck is definitely one to strive for it to be like. I was looking for exhaust the other day, don't want one too loud. Considering picking up a Corsa Muffler for a Diesel and give it a shot... its a 300$ gamble, but if it keeps it quite on the inside and a good rumble on the outside that is what I am looking for.

I going to have it tuned by blackbear and get a few different tunes for it as far as tire size and towing. It will be a little while since I am still waiting on the medical payment...

Well medical for me got settled out finally. I found out Michelin was discontinuing the LTX A/T2 and was able to have a buddy scoop up 2 from his tire supplier to match the original wheels and tires that came one it (2 were brand new when purchased) in 265/75/16. Then it was unexpectedly got put on a trip to St. Louis and back to Raleigh (Long story) and it drove great. That 8.1 pulls through the mountains like they are nothing. Never even down shifted going up hill. So total trip with driving around city and such was around 2,200 miles burning 186.5 gals of fuel resulting in Avg MPGs of 11.8, with a trip high mileage of 13.65 mpg. I don't think that is terrible considering what it is! These were all hand calculated and factoring in a 3.9% difference in the speedometer.

Now I have ordered up the BB tune and hopefully I will get it in time to install it before we leave for the beach on Friday.

Got the tune in this beast and let me tell you, a remarkable difference was made in trans shifts, throttle response, and power through the RPM range. It is absolutely amazing how much GM programmed this thing to pull power out of it to "save the trans". I didn't get anything crazy but BBP got it right and even using the 87-89 octane tune it does an awesome job now pulling through the entire RPM range. I can even tell a slight difference with the mileage already, but will have wait to post figures on that here soon.

I cannot say it enough, Any one interested in a tune Contact Black Bear Performance and have Justin hit a home run on it.
