I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. I got in the vehicle today and had my foot on the brake getting ready to leave. Slowly the pedal went all the way to the floor then the "Service Brake System" error come on my dash. I let my foot off the brake and the pedal came back up and seemed fine. The next time I got in the car I tried to make it happen and it did it again. What could the issue be?

Do you have any fluid in your master cylinder reservoir? I would suggest looking for a leak in your brake system or possibly replace the master cylinder.

Remi - If you do not see any evidence of a leak, it sounds like it might be an internal leak in the master cylinder. In that case, best to replace it. But first look for any signs of brake fluid leaking first, like all along the lines, at the wheels, etc. Rusted brake lines are not uncommon....
